Job description

This position is essential to the success of our retail stores. Customer Service Specialists work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend the right solutions. Customer Service Specialists are also expected to promptly resolve any customer concerns and ensure maximum client satisfaction, while staying up-to-date with product features and maintaining the high quality and visual standards of the products and store.

Customer Service Specialists are tasked with achieving excellent customer service, while consistently meeting the store’s sales goals.

The individual selected for this role will be expected to work at Store #3932, located at: 3013 32nd Ave. South, Grand Forks, ND 58201. This is a full-time position.

Job duties involve contact with customers, including minors; and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value. Access may be supervised or unsupervised. The company conducts a criminal history review to protect its operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Legally authorized to work in the country without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
  • Ability to retrieve materials from shelves and lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 70 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • For internal candidates: a “meets expectations” (3) rating on the most recent performance appraisal
  • Completion of all required HR Cloud eLearning courses for current position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service
  • Experience selling paint and related products
  • Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, including Spanish
Responsibilities
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining needs and recommending products
  • Build trust relationships with wholesale and retail customers
  • Process sales transactions accurately and according to policies
  • Achieve sales goals monthly, quarterly, and yearly
  • Maintain work order files and formulas accurately
  • Pull products from the sales floor or warehouse
  • Tint and mix products to customer specifications
  • Stock shelves and set up displays
  • Clean store equipment
  • Load and unload delivery trucks
  • Assist with deliveries as needed
  • Maintain in-stock and presentable areas
  • Stay knowledgeable about products and discuss options with customers
  • Follow inventory control procedures
  • Suggest ways to improve sales
