Job summary

Family Dollar in Ossineke, Michigan is seeking a Customer Service Associate to support store operations and help customers with questions and purchases.

You will handle cash register transactions, restock merchandise, maintain a clean store, and assist with unloading trucks while providing friendly, helpful service. Part-time role with opportunities to grow; prior retail or service experience is preferred, and physical tasks such as lifting 30–50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation
