Job summary

Dollar Tree in Narragansett, Rhode Island seeks a Part-time Customer Service Associate to help create a friendly shopping experience for every customer. You will assist customers, handle transactions, stock shelves, and keep the store clean and welcoming.

This role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and strong communication. Prior retail or service experience is preferred, and physical duties include lifting up to 50 lbs and frequent walking throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
• Maintain the cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation
