Job summary

Dollar Tree in Edgewood, MD seeks a Customer Service Associate to provide a friendly shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle transactions at the register, and help maintain stock and store cleanliness.

This role emphasizes safety, respect, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment. Experience in customer service is preferred; candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active through shifts that include standing and walking.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous customer service in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Process sales transactions at the assigned cash register.
• Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and assist with unloading trucks.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and colleagues.
• Maintain cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
