Job summary

Family Dollar in Hernandez, NM is seeking a Customer Service Associate to provide a great shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle transactions, keep shelves stocked, and help with unloading trucks as part of daily store operations.

This role requires strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills, with physical duties including lifting and standing for extended periods. Part-time schedule; emphasis on safe, friendly store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks and stock replenishment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful store environment for customers and associates.
• Clean and restock bathrooms, sweep and mop floors, take out trash, and keep areas neat and presentable.
• Other duties as assigned.
