Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking a part-time team member in Prospect Heights, IL. You will assist customers, process transactions at the cash register, and help keep the store clean and stocked.

The role emphasizes friendly, professional interactions with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced retail environment. Responsibilities include unloading merchandise, replenishing stock, and maintaining store safety and organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment per productivity standards.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with professional interactions.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
