Job summary

Weis Markets is seeking an Asset Protection Investigator to join our team in safeguarding store assets and supporting lawfully addressing external theft. You will gather intelligence, conduct surveillance, and work with law enforcement to prosecute cases while collaborating with store leadership to protect assets.

The role requires strong investigative skills, the ability to travel within an assigned area, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in criminal justice, criminology, or related field.
• At least 1 year of retail loss prevention experience.
• Strong investigative and documentation skills.
• Ability to travel within assigned area as needed.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve external theft, shoplifting, and organized retail crime.
• Gather, analyze, and evaluate intelligence on individuals involved in retail crime.
• Document information gathered to aid prosecutions and support investigations.
• Coordinate with store Asset Protection teams on investigative plans.
• Operate the store CCTV system and conduct undercover surveillance.
• Liaise with local, state, and federal law enforcement; refer cases for prosecution.
• Represent Weis Markets in court hearings and mediations as needed.
• Manage time and scheduling to include evenings, weekends, and occasional overnights.
• Travel to multiple locations within an assigned area to provide support.
