Overview

Performs all functions related to preparing foods for meal service for patients and cafeteria, including breakfast, lunch, supper, meats, vegetables, modified diets, and special functions as directed.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

• Education/Licensure/Certifications: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: Food preparation experience in a high-volume setting preferred. Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Additional Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication and customer service skills required. Strong organizational skills with the ability to solve problems independently. Knowledge of and ability to follow standards of federal, state, and regulatory agencies and JCAHO for sanitation, food preparation, and handling. Knowledge of cooking methods, procedures, safe food handling techniques, and kitchen equipment. Ability to follow written recipes and properly identify patients while maintaining confidentiality.
