Job summary

North 40 Outfitters is seeking a Controller to lead the day-to-day accounting functions at our Great Falls, MT home office. You will oversee close, general ledger, inventory accounting, cash management, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, tax compliance, audits, and internal controls for our multi-location retail operation.

The role requires strong accounting expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate with company leadership and store operations in a high-volume retail

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and strong financial controls.
• Self-motivated leader who can manage competing priorities and make sound decisions.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial controls.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.
• Progressive accounting experience including financial close, GL, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience leading accounting operations in a multi-location, high-volume retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting functions across the organization.
• Oversee financial close and reporting, general ledger, inventory accounting, cash management, AP/AR, fixed assets.
• Ensure tax compliance, audits, and internal controls.
• Partner with leadership and store operations to support financial decision-making.
