Job summary

MPI seeks an on-site Superintendent in Bloomington, MN to lead retail construction projects from interior build-outs to renovations. You will manage trades, keep store openings on schedule, and work closely with project managers and clients.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a track record delivering tenant improvements in fast-paced environments. OSHA certification and turnover deadlines are valued; a competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a General Contractor, preferably within retail or commercial interiors construction.
• Experience delivering tenant improvements, retail build-outs, or rollout programs preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
• Ability to manage multiple trades in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
• Experience working on projects with strict turnover deadlines (store openings) is highly valued.
• OSHA certification preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations to ensure projects are completed on schedule and aligned with retail opening timelines
• Review drawings, specifications, and subcontractor scopes to ensure accurate and efficient execution
• Develop and manage site logistics, sequencing, and short-term schedules to maintain project flow
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to brand standards
• Maintain detailed daily reports, weekly schedules, and progress tracking
• Drive project schedules in fast-paced environments, including night work and accelerated timelines when required
• Work closely with Project Managers, clients, and store representatives to ensure alignment and communication
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, site protocols, and proper job site organization
• Proactively identify and resolve field issues to prevent delays and maintain schedule integrity
