Job summary

David Nice Builders in Williamsburg, VA is seeking a Retail Construction Project Manager to own the full lifecycle of retail projects from pre-construction through closeout, with office and field work and travel to jobsites.

You will lead bidding, contracts, start‑up, scheduling, and field coordination, support the superintendent, manage budgets, safety, and client relations to deliver on‑time, quality results.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction management experience.
• Retail construction experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction and bidding activities with cross-functional teams.
• Own project lifecycle from pre-construction through closeout.
• Coordinate with estimators, issue scopes, and subcontracts.
• Develop and manage project schedules and budgets.
• Support field superintendent to ensure quality and timelines.
• Hold internal start-up meetings and project reviews.
• Lead meetings, track RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Ensure closeout delivers sign-offs and turnover within deadlines.
