Job summary

David Nice Builders seeks a seasoned construction executive to lead its Commercial Division as Director of Commercial Construction Operations in the Williamsburg/Toano area of Virginia. This high-visibility role carries full P&L accountability and reports to the President and VP, with strategic input across private, federal, public-sector, and design-build work.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in commercial construction with 5+ in leadership.
• Experience delivering complex projects via GC, CM-at-risk, and design-build.
• Strong financial acumen and division-level profitability management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Commercial Division's operating plan and strategy.
• Provide executive oversight on active projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Lead budgeting, constructability reviews, pricing, and client presentations for design-build.
• Directly lead and develop project managers and field leadership.
• Own the division P&L and collaborate with Finance on forecasting.
• Build key client relationships and pursue federal/public-sector work.
• Champion risk mitigation, safety culture, and operational excellence.
• Drive process improvements and technology adoption across divisions.
