Job summary

Jacksons Food Stores, Inc. is hiring Retail Cashier Floaters to support multiple store locations within a designated region.

This full-time, mobile role provides coverage for staff absences, vacations, or open roles while delivering friendly checkout experiences. You will greet customers, handle fast, accurate checkouts, rotate stock, and maintain store cleanliness, with an overnight shift premium and opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and provide fast checkout.
• Stock and rotate products on shelves and in coolers.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety.

• Assist with fueling and windshield cleaning where required.
• Reconcile daily deposits for float responsibilities.

Job description

Pay: $20.70 - $22.00 an hour.

We're looking for enthusiastic, flexible, and service-driven individuals to join our team as Retail Cashier Floaters. This dynamic, mobile role supports multiple store locations within a designated region, providing critical coverage for staff absences, vacations, or open roles. As aCashier Floater, you'll gain hands-on experience at different stores, meet great people, and expand your retail skills all while enjoying the perks of a steady position with room to grow. Shift: full-time - must be able to work any shift, including overnight.

Schedule: Flexible shifts - including nights, weekends, and holidays
Minimum Age: 21+

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Greet every customer with a smile and a friendly attitude.
• Provide fast, accurate checkout and share promotions or discounts.
• Stock and rotate products on shelves and in coolers.
• Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
• Follow all laws regarding the sale of restricted items (alcohol, tobacco).
• In Oregon (and where needed), assist with fueling and windshield cleaning.
• Book Floaters: Reconcile paperwork and complete daily deposits.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Our stores require flexibility availability to work nights, weekends and holidays
• Must be willing to travel to different locations and cover various shifts.
• Retail or cashier experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the company.
• Able to work independently while being part of a team.
• Comfortable with fast-paced environments and multitasking.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, you are frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and twist; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk and listen.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
• Work safely in work conditions that include heat, cold, allergen, noise, and fume/chemical/odor from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
