Job summary

Big 5 Sporting Goods in Los Angeles is hiring a friendly cashier to provide outstanding customer experiences at the front counter. You will operate the POS system, handle transactions, and help maintain a welcoming store environment.

You're expected to assist customers, answer questions, and upsell products while keeping shelves tidy and stocked. Prior retail experience is a plus, but a positive attitude and reliability are key.

Role Overview

Cashiers play a key role in delivering outstanding customer experience. The primary responsibilities include operating and managing the front counter point-of-sale (POS) system while ensuring asmoothpleasant shopping experience for every customer.

Primary Duties

• Provide excellent customer service by welcoming andassistingcustomers during entry and exit, ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Direction of sales associates using the PA system
• Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries
• Recommend products and suggest add-on sales
• Cash-handling and bagging ofpurchasedmerchandise

• Performs or may performadditionalduties as assigned by management and supervision

Position Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Strong communicationand interpersonal skills
• Mustpossessbasic organizational and/or applicable math skills
• Detail-oriented and reliable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of sporting goods is a plus
