Big 5 Sporting Goods is seeking an energetic, sports-minded individual to join our customer service team. The position typically attracts enthusiastic, detail-oriented individuals with strong customer service backgrounds or relevant educational backgrounds. Cashiers are responsible for managing the front counter POS (register) terminal. Additional responsibilities include cash handling, bagging merchandise, greeting customers, answering phones, directing sales associates via PA system, stocking shelves, and maintaining the sales floor. The goal is to ensure a pleasant shopping experience for all customers.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must possess a High School diploma, GED, High School Equivalency, or relevant experience
• Basic organizational and math skills required
• Candidate will be subject to E-Verify upon accepting the position
• Light to moderate lifting may be required, with or without accommodation
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential
