Big 5 Sporting Goods is seeking an energetic, sports-minded individual to join our customer service team. Available openings are generally filled by enthusiastic, detail-oriented people with solid customer service backgrounds and/or relevant educational paths. Cashiers are responsible for overseeing the front counter POS (register) terminal. Other responsibilities include cash-handling, bagging purchased merchandise, greeting customers, answering telephones, directing sales associates using the PA system, stocking shelves, and maintaining the sales floor. Ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for all customers is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must possess a High School diploma, GED, High School Equivalency, certificated equivalent, or relevant experience
• Must have basic organizational and applicable math skills
• Upon accepting an offer, candidate will be subject to E-Verify
• Light to moderate lifting may be required, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential

$14.81 - $15.41/hour depending on store location
