Job Title: Cashier

Reports To: Store Manager and Assistant Manager

Pending FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary

Upholds the Core Values as set forth by Laskowski Ace Hardware. The primary responsibility for all positions is to Amaze Every Customer Every Time. The Head Cashier is primarily responsible for supervising cashiers, handling receipts and disbursement of money for sales transactions, assisting in daily register operations, overseeing cashier training, and ensuring excellent customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure each customer receives outstanding service.
• Lead by example and train cashiers effectively.
• Greet customers as they enter the store.
• Troubleshoot point-of-sale problems.
• Manage customer lines and call for backup when needed.
• Maintain clean and organized merchandise displays and work areas.
• Perform cash pulls, make change orders, and handle returns and refunds accurately.
• Answer phone calls professionally and transfer calls appropriately.
• Promote Ace Rewards and B2B programs, and assist with online and curbside orders.
• Conduct cashier meetings and provide ongoing training.
• Order and manage register supplies.
• Assist management with hiring and discipline issues.
• Monitor and prevent shoplifting according to company policy.
• Support team motivation and work collaboratively with staff and management.
• Handle customer complaints and escalate when necessary.
