Job summary

Carter Bankshares in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Financial Services Representative to be the first point of contact for customers, handling transactions and guiding banking needs with a proactive, personalized touch.

This role emphasizes building relationships, exceptional service, and promoting bank products to help customers achieve their financial goals. Strong communication and basic banking knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college a plus.
• Successful customer service and/or sales experience required.
• Previous experience in a retail bank or related industry preferred.
• Prior cash handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides a range of customer services including transaction processing, customer and account servicing, opening new accounts and products, and referring to partners.
• Delivers exceptional customer experience through every customer interaction by proactively engaging customers to build relationships and delivering solutions that earn trust.
• Proactively identifies basic customer needs and generates high-quality referrals to branch staff and partners to support the customer's financial goals.
• Utilizes bank resources to assist with the resolution of basic or common account/customer issues and escalates unresolved issues for further research with clear, accurate answers.
• Contributes to the efficient operation of a well-run branch by following processes and compliance directives in daily work.
• Supports the bank's strategic plan to grow all aspects of the retail bank's business.
• Meets or exceeds sales goals through targeted sales activities and identifying customer needs.
• Owns career development by pursuing training and coaching opportunities.
• Attends bank-sponsored events to enhance visibility and attract new customers.
