Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in New Haven, IN is seeking a friendly Retail Associate to join a brand-new store team. This part-time role pays $13.50 per hour, with an 18-hour weekly schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and paid training.

You will greet customers and donors, operate the register, sort and price donations, move merchandise to the floor, keep the store clean and organized, and help create a welcoming shopping experience while supporting community programs.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide friendly customer service
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Basic communication and teamwork skills
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift
• Ability to bend, reach and lift or move merchandise
• High school diploma or currently pursuing

Responsibilities

• Greet customers & donors and provide friendly, helpful service
• Operate the register and process sales transactions accurately
• Assist donors with donations according to center policy
• Sort, process, hang, tag, price, and prepare donated merchandise
• Move priced merchandise to the sales floor, display areas, or other designated locations
• Keep the store clean, safe, and organized
• Work with team members to support daily sales and production goals
• Other duties as assigned
