Retail Associate (Part-Time) - W. Hessler Rd. Muncie, IN

Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana is hiring a Retail Associate for a part‑time position at $11 per hour.

Responsibilities

Cashier

• Ring up customer orders, maintain a balanced drawer, and follow all cash handling procedures and protocols.
• Provide general information about Goodwill programs to educate customers and answer questions, directing higher‑level questions to the appropriate associate or manager.
• Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor (purge, size, run racks, and merchandise).

Textiles or Wares Producer

• Sort products, check for quality issues, and properly bar code, tag, and hang textiles or wares.
• Produce 100 items per hour for wares/85 items per hour for textiles, adhering to Goodwill’s pricing standards and updating daily production tracking sheets.
• Occasionally use a pallet jack and routinely use a conveyor belt.

Donation Door Attendant

• Accept donations from customers and maintain a clean and clear donation door.
• Quickly and accurately sort products and distribute them to appropriate areas.
• Maintain an efficient working area by ensuring the backroom is clean and organized.
• Load and unload trucks as needed and regularly operate heavy equipment such as a pallet jack, double stacker, floor scrubber, and hydraulic lift.

eCommerce Producer

• Identify and secure items of value for ClickGoodwill.
• Stay informed of market value of merchandise through eBay and other Internet shopping sites to properly tag, itemize, and secure items for ClickGoodwill, and educate the team on high‑ticket eCommerce items.
• Pack curated products onto pallets, wrap, and ship totes to ClickGoodwill to meet the store budget regarding totes shipped per week.

e-Books Producer

• Scan books received by the store and decide what is sent to ClickGoodwill or displayed at the store location to meet the store budget.
• Print inventory sheets and pack, seal, and ship totes for ClickGoodwill.
• Identify top sellers and manage a clean, organized, in‑store sales‑effective display.

Rack and Cart Runner

• Check each rack/cart to ensure quality and value.
• Properly size, merchandise, and purge the sales floor.
• Maintain a clean and orderly sales floor, put away carts, and stock shelves.
• Run one textile rack/wares cart per 15 minutes and update daily production tracking sheet.

Other Requirements

• Hard to Very Hard Physical Work – Able to spend time in excess of 8 hours sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching; can move and lift 10–50 pounds.
• Can manage frequent exposure to moderate noise and temperature variations.
