Job summary

Dollar General is hiring retail associates to serve customers, stock shelves, and operate the checkout. You will assist in merchandising, pricing, and maintaining store cleanliness in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, helping customers, and processing sales with a handheld scanner and cash register. Prior experience in retail is helpful but not required, with a high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and receive merchandise.
• Open and unpack cartons; stock merchandise on shelves or floor.
• Build and maintain merchandise displays.
• Stock, rotate and face products on shelves; restock as needed.
• Assist customers in locating items and answer questions.
• Operate cash register and scanner to total purchases; bag items and collect payment.
• Assist with merchandise ordering using handheld scanners.
• Clean store, restock supplies, and set up sidewalk displays as needed.
