GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate performs a range of functions in all areas of the Store as needed, and may be requested to perform additional tasks to help achieve our Customer service and operational goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Understand that safety is the top priority and practice safe behaviors in all activities.
  • Maintain awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment, keep exits clear, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Treat all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; be friendly and professional. Recognize fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
  • Assist Customers as needed, including register training, merchandise assistance, and answering questions politely and knowledgeably. Greet customers throughout the store and thank them at checkout.
  • Respond promptly to Customer service calls and issues, escalating to Store Leadership when necessary.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a clean environment, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
  • Perform daily merchandising and recovery tasks to keep the store organized and presentable.
  • Expedite the receipt of new merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising items according to guidelines and maintaining familiarity with departments to assist Customers.
  • Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrate integrity and honesty, safeguarding confidential information and merchandise.
  • Follow policies on merchandise disposal, cash handling, and transactions with accuracy and awareness.
  • Work efficiently, maximizing productivity by following store best practices and minimizing steps.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
  • Basic mathematical skills for retail transactions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
  • Ability to operate store equipment, including registers and PCs.
  • Spend up to 100% of time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
  • Regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop.
  • Occasionally push, pull, and lift over 25 pounds.
  • Use janitorial and store equipment as needed.
  • Additional qualifications may be required for specific assignments.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The base pay range for this role is $16.00 - $16.50, dependent on experience, skills, and location. Benefits include insurance programs, associate discounts, purchase programs, and more. Full-time employees are eligible for additional benefits including health insurance, paid time off, holidays, and performance bonuses.
