Retail Cashier

Reports to: Retail Supervisor

Category: Seasonal (April - October in Hoonah, Alaska)

Salary Range: $18-20 DOE, plus bonus potential

Summary

A Retail Associate is responsible for maintaining Guest Service as per company standards, generating sales, housekeeping, re-stocking, signing, pricing, cash register operations (POS) and loss prevention in adherence to all Company Policy/Store standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensure that each Guest receives outstanding Guest Service by providing a Guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every Guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of Guest Service.
• Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information, merchandise promotions,andadvertisements.
• Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping.
• Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock.
• Adhere to all Company policies, proceduresandpractices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention.
• Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers.
• Communicate Guest requests to management.
• Any other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat.
• Prolonged periods of standing, with climbing stairs multiple times a day.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times.
• Ability to communicate in English to our associates and guests.
• Ability to read, write and count to accurately complete all documentation.
• Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
• Ability to work in an unheated building.
• Willing to live in a remote, rural community
• Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote setting
• Able to walk and/or drive on gravel roads in inclement weather
• In Season, the hours can be extended.
