Job description

Goodwill Industries of Mid-Michigan is seeking motivated, team-oriented individuals for a FULL-TIME Retail Associate position at our Flint Township store on Miller Road, next to Genesee Valley.

$13.00 per hour with potential for monthly bonuses!!!

20% discount on in-store purchases

Essential duties and responsibilities:

1. Assist in maximizing store sales and increasing Goodwill’s profit.
2. Provide prompt and courteous customer and donor service.
3. Achieve expectations for assigned tasks, including:

• Cashier: Operate cash register accurately, conduct sales functions as directed, maintain acceptable cash variance, run 3 racks per hour (or 5 if not on register).
• Processor: Receive, process, price, and display merchandise, achieving a standard of 85-100 pieces per hour; use agency-issued gloves when sorting.
• Rack Runner: Process 5 racks per hour, organizing products by place and color.
• Retail Donation Attendant: Greet donors, assist with donations, maintain records, organize donation area, assist with loading/unloading trucks, using gloves.
• Retail Custodian: Keep the sales floor, restrooms, and breakroom clean; empty trash, clean fixtures, and keep exterior areas tidy, using gloves for chemicals.
• Provide excellent customer service with a smile!

Qualifications:

• Ability and willingness to work flexible shifts.
• Lift and carry 35 pounds with or without assistance.
• Reach, bend, or stoop using safe techniques.
• Stand for six to eight hours daily.
• Reliable transportation.
• Friendly, cheerful, and professional demeanor.
• Color discrimination ability.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
