General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures our Customers have a positive shopping experience by making eye contact, smiling, greeting all Customers courteously, respecting fellow Associates, following company standards, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring proper merchandise presentation. They perform various tasks across store areas as needed to meet customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Prioritize safety, practicing safe behaviors at all times.
• Maintain awareness on the sales floor to create a safe environment, keep exits clear, and report unsafe conditions.
• Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; recognize fellow Associates.
• Assist Customers with merchandise, answer questions politely, and greet them throughout the store.
• Respond promptly to customer service calls and resolve issues courteously, involving leadership when necessary.
• Represent and support the Company brand consistently.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
• Organize and recover merchandise to keep the store neat and appealing.
• Expedite merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising according to guidelines.
• Understand Loss Prevention policies and merchandise protection standards.
• Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, and handle cash and merchandise responsibly.
• Follow policies regarding stock management, transactions, and cash handling.
• Work with a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and adhere to store best practices.

Qualifications And Skills

• Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Basic mathematical skills for retail transactions.

Physical Requirements/ADA

• Ability to operate store equipment, including registers and PCs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift over 20 pounds, especially for stockroom shifts.
