General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may perform various functions across store areas as needed, including additional tasks to help achieve customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors and maintaining a secure shopping environment.
• Maintain a clutter-free sales floor, clear emergency exits, and report unsafe conditions.
• Show respect and courtesy to all Customers and Associates; recognize fellow Associates.
• Assist Customers with merchandise, operate registers, and respond to inquiries politely and knowledgeably.
• Handle Customer issues courteously, calling Store Leadership when necessary.
• Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain hygiene and presentation standards.
• Adhere to the Company's dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
• Conduct daily merchandising and recovery to keep the store organized and appealing.
• Expedite merchandise to the sales floor promptly, following presentation guidelines.
• Understand Loss Prevention policies and merchandise protection standards.
• Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, and handle transactions accurately.
• Work efficiently, minimizing steps and touches to maximize productivity.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

• Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly and respectful manner.
• Basic mathematical skills used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements/Ada

• Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of the time.
• Regular bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and stooping.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, and lifting over 25 pounds.
• Use of janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
• Stockroom shifts require pushing, pulling, and lifting over 20 pounds.
