Assistant Store Manager

Position Description and Key Measures

Department: Retail Operations

Location: Store Location

Reports to: Store Manager (SM)

Position Purpose and Expectations:

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in leading the retail team to deliver exceptional customer experiences, manage daily operations, and achieve business targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership & Team Development
  • Assist in training, coaching, and developing team members
  • Promote effective communication within the team
  • Lead by example in customer service excellence
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes
  • Sales & Operations
    • Motivate team to drive sales performance
    • Implement operational procedures including opening and closing protocols
    • Manage inventory control and stockroom organization
    • Oversee shipment processing and merchandise flow
    • Maintain shrink prevention measures
    • Ensure visual merchandising standards are met
  • Customer Experience
    • Create an engaging shopping environment
    • Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently
    • Maintain store cleanliness and appearance
    • Lead team in delivering personalized service
  • Administrative Duties
    • Support payroll management and staff scheduling
    • Maintain accurate financial records and reports
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
    • Assist with loss prevention initiatives

    Required Qualifications:

    • At least 2 years of retail management experience
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Proven leadership ability
    • Passion for retail and fashion
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
    • Physical capability to perform tasks such as standing, lifting, and moving merchandise
