The Assistant Team Leader oversees the successful operation of the store's front-end, leading a sales team passionate about merchandise and customer experience. Responsibilities include associate development, customer service, asset protection, and store maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing payroll budgets, expenses, store banking, shrink reduction, and related reports to meet financial and operational goals.
  • Demonstrate Ollie’s “Yes I Care, Yes I Can” behaviors in providing exceptional service and ensure company standards are met in every interaction.
  • Maintain store standards and ensure operational expectations are met.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the store exterior and front-end.
  • Assign daily tasks to associates and monitor productivity.
  • Perform opening and closing functions when needed.
  • Assist with hiring, recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding to meet staffing needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years’ retail management experience with mid to large size retailer.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid Driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Push and pull up to 35 pounds.
  • Stand for extended periods and work safely.
