Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Bloomfield, MO to maintain a clean, organized store and a customer-first focus. You will supervise staff, assist with merchandising, deposits, and paperwork, and support profitability and asset protection.

You will open/close the store several days weekly, train employees, manage schedules, verify inventory, and uphold cash-control procedures while assisting the Store Manager in their absence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules and procedures.
• Excellent math and cash handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing adequate training, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking and building displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels by controlling damages and markdowns and performing scans and paperwork.
• Assist in planogram implementation and maintenance; ensure presentation per standards.
• Assist with cash control: refunds, overrides, deposits, and reporting; count tills.
• Assist with store leadership in the Store Manager's absence.
