Duchess, a long-standing local retailer in New Philadelphia, is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, coach team members, and deliver outstanding guest service. This role offers leadership growth in a fast-paced retail setting and opportunities to influence performance and standards.

Responsibilities include staffing, scheduling, inventory, and ensuring a clean, safe, customer-ready store.

Qualifications

• Education – High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience – 1+ year of leadership experience in retail or food service
• Leadership – A team-first mindset with strong communication skills
• Operations – Comfortable with scheduling, inventory, and basic store systems
• Tech comfort – Familiar with POS systems and basic software (Word, Excel, Email)
• ServeSafe certification – Required or willingness to obtain
• Customer focus – Committed to creating a welcoming experience for every guest

Responsibilities

• Support store operations including staffing, inventory, and shift leadership
• Coach and train team members to deliver friendly, efficient service
• Ensure the store stays clean, safe, and customer-ready
• Step in to lead when the Store Manager is away help drive performance goals and maintain compliance standards
• Build relationships with customers, vendors, and your team
• Other Qualifications include, but are not limited to walking, standing, squatting, lifting, carrying, and reaching. Ability to work in demanding circumstances including variable temperatures, indoors and outdoors.
