Job summary

Gap Inc. is seeking an Assistant Manager to set the tone for the store and team, driving profitable sales through customer-centric operations, merchandising, and talent development. You will support execution of the store strategy with the General Manager to achieve performance goals.

You will recruit and coach Brand Associates and Experts, lead an area of responsibility, and ensure SOPs, compliance, and a best-in-class customer experience across in-store and omni-channel touchpoints.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of retail management experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication with customers and team to meet goals.
• Retail passion and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Metrics-driven mindset to deliver results.
• Leadership and mentoring to develop others.
• Flexible schedule including holidays, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds and move around sales floor and stockroom.

Responsibilities

• Drive store sales and profitability through customer-centric operations.
• Recruit, hire and develop Brand Associates and Experts.
• Own assigned area of responsibility and execute action plans.
• Maintain standard operating procedures and brand standards.
• Perform Service Leader duties when needed.
• RepresentGap Inc. and monitor retail landscape and competition.
• Promote community involvement and seamless omni-channel experiences.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
