Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Thornton, CO to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily tasks, help customers, and ensure merchandise moves smoothly from delivery to floor.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and leadership capabilities, with a focus on maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting store environment and developing Store Associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and handle frequent movement.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers positively and address questions or concerns.
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and store policies.
• Support Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment with professional interactions.
• Maintain store cleanliness, restrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
