E&H Hardware Group, LLC seeks an energetic Assistant Store Manager for our Middlefield-based Ace Hardware store in Ohio. This full-time role partners with the Store Manager to drive sales, coach team members, and ensure smooth day-to-day execution on the sales floor while upholding our local, family-owned values.

You’ll lead by example, supervise operations, assist with merchandising, inventory, and customer service, and help create a welcoming, organized shopping environment.

• Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and 1+ years of retail leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities are essential.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, Teams, etc.).
• Ability to lead others while also working independently.
• Familiarity with hardware or home improvement retail is a plus.

• Lead by example in providing helpful, solution-based service to every customer.
• Supervise daily store operations including opening, closing, and manager-on-duty shifts.
• Support merchandising and ensure promotional signage and seasonal displays are accurate and complete.
• Help customers with purchases, returns, special orders, and online fulfillment.
• Manage inventory through cycle counts and stock-level monitoring.
• Oversee receiving, checking-in, and stocking of merchandise.
• Maintain a clean, organized sales floor, stock room, and outdoor areas.
• Participate in store resets and reorganizations.
• Address and resolve customer or employee concerns professionally and promptly.
• Foster a safe store environment and prevent theft and accidents.

Retail Assistant Store Manager Full-Time

E&H Ace Hardware is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Assistant Store Manager to support the daily operations of our Family Owned and Locally Operated retail store in Middlefield Ohio. This leadership role is perfect for someone who thrives in a customer-focused environment and is ready to help drive sales, coach team members, and ensure smooth day-to-day execution on the sales floor.

As an Assistant Store Manager, you’ll work closely with the Store Manager to create a welcoming, productive, and well-organized retail space — all while helping team members grow and customers get what they need to complete their projects.

What you’ll do:

• Coach and train team members using E&H’s Customer First Sales Culture
• Lead by example in providing helpful, solution-based service to every customer
• Supervise daily store operations including opening, closing, and manager-on-duty shifts
• Support merchandising and ensure promotional signage and seasonal displays are accurate and complete
• Help customers with purchases, returns, special orders, and online fulfillment
• Manage inventory through cycle counts and stock-level monitoring
• Oversee the accurate receiving, checking-in, and stocking of merchandise
• Maintain a clean, organized sales floor, stock room, and outdoor areas
• Participate in store resets and reorganizations
• Address and resolve customer or employee concerns professionally and promptly
• Foster a safe and secure store environment and take proactive steps to prevent theft and accidents
• Operate store systems including POS and ACENET with confidence
• Be flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of prior retail leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Proficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, Teams, etc.)
• Ability to lead others while also working independently
• Familiarity with hardware or home improvement retail is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings
