Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support fast-paced store operations and lead a dedicated team. The role emphasizes customer service, charity mission, and adaptability in a changing environment.

You will help drive the store’s performance while upholding core values of hope, service, partnership, and dignity. The position offers a full-time schedule with hours Monday through Sunday, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and a pay rate of $15.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of progressive experience in retail or manufacturing operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assumes management responsibilities in absence of Store Manager.
• Assists Store Manager in ordering merchandise and record keeping including payroll, scheduling and cash deposits.
• Supervises, trains, and develops Store Associates on Goodwill operating practices and procedures.
• Maintains a positive shopping experience by providing excellent customer service and keeping the store well-stocked.
• Supports Store Manager in loss prevention efforts.

Essential Duties And Tasks

• Assumes management responsibilities in absence of Store Manager.
• Assists Store Manager in ordering merchandise and record keeping including payroll, scheduling and cash register deposits and receipts.
• At the direction of the Store Manager, supervises, trains, and develops Store Associates on Goodwill of Kentucky operating practices and procedures.
• Maintains a positive shopping experience by providing excellent customer service and maintaining a well-stocked store.
• Supports Store Manager in loss prevention efforts.
• Follows all Company policies and procedures.

Education And Experience

• High School Diploma / GED.
• A minimum of 1-3 years of progressive experience in retail or manufacturing operations.
• A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
• Prior management experience preferred.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving; ability to place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store.
