Job summary

Story Cannabis is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead a high-performing team at our Arkansas dispensary. You will drive top-line sales growth, ensure strong inventory controls, and uphold compliance across all store operations.

You will partner with the General Manager to plan sales strategies, coach and train staff, monitor KPIs, manage labor costs, and collaborate with marketing and retail operations. A strong communicator with leadership presence is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years in management in high-volume retail; cannabis experience preferred.
• Experience with Dutchie and Metrc; POS systems familiarity.
• Strong leadership, staff development, and recruitment skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service.
• Analytical with ability to set and track KPIs.
• Open availability with no scheduling conflicts.

Overview:

The Assistant General Manager reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for developing a high-performing team that consistently delivers top-line sales growth. This person will lead and support the staff with customer service, sales training, product knowledge, leadership development, inventory controls, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the General Manager to plan and implement sales strategies to drive positive sales growth within the dispensary.
• Maintaining strong inventory controls and making sure that the store is upholding compliance standards.
• Coaching, training, and developing staff, making sure they are aligned with the company’s goals and vision.
• Partnering with the General Manager to help create, monitor, and track the store’s KPIs, and leveraging data to help drive decisions around labor costs, sales strategies, and training opportunities.
• Helping to hire, train and onboard new staff within the dispensary.
• Assisting with the store’s day-to-day operations and partnering with other internal teams, such as marketing, retail operations, and supply chain.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent required, Associate Degree preferred.
• 2+ years of management experience in a high-volume retail environment with previous cannabis experience preferred.
• Experience with point of sales systems and backend compliance tools, such as Dutchie and Metrc.
• Strong leadership qualities and the ability to recruit and train staff.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Analytical with the ability to set and track store KPIs.
• Open availability with no scheduling conflicts.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to occasionally lift 50+ pounds.
• Must be able to either sit or stand for long periods of time.
