Responsibilities include monitoring footage, identifying risks, detaining shoplifters within legal bounds, and coordinating with leadership and law enforcement as needed. A High School Diploma and 1–3 years experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal communication and de-escalation skills.
• Basic computer proficiency for incident reports and reviewing footage.
• Knowledge of state laws regarding merchant rights and shoplifting detentions.
• Ability to obtain asset protection certification if required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store activity through floor observation to identify suspicious behavior and theft.
• Oversee high-risk areas and security to identify loss risks and vulnerabilities.
• Operate CCTV surveillance and document evidence of incidents and policy violations.
• Conduct shoplifting apprehensions in compliance with laws and company policy.
• Coordinate with store leadership and front-end controls to reduce loss.
• Review receiving procedures and backroom stock to prevent transit loss.
• Complete detailed incident reports and maintain case files for incidents.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement during on-site incidents as directed.
