Job summary

The RealReal in Massachusetts is seeking an Asset Protection Specialist to safeguard our retail stores and support daily operations. You will oversee security, inventory control, and the wellbeing of employees and clients, collaborating with store teams to deter theft and ensure policy compliance.

You will use CCTV, lead cycle counts, conduct audits, and respond to alarms, while training colleagues on AP processes and staying ahead of industry trends.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of Asset Protection or Security experience.
• Strong understanding of physical security including CCTV, alarms, access control, and lock and key.
• Ability to work with all levels of management within the company.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and be a self-starter.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work well within a team.
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours at a time.
• Customer-focused mindset with a drive to provide a warm and welcoming environment.
• Open availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to respond to alarm company calls and be available after hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support safety and security processes and procedures, including business continuity plans.
• Utilize CCTV to review video for safety and investigations and bring cases to closure.
• Help lead weekly inventory cycle count and reconcile variances.
• Conduct daily/weekly/monthly audits for shortage control and safety.
• Responsible for physical security of the building as a key holder, including after-hours alarms.
• Train current and new team members on AP processes and systems.
• Collaborate with store management to support business needs and AP initiatives.
• Investigate industry trends and develop AP strategies to stay ahead of competition.
• Identify internal and external theft incidents and document them.
