Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a dedicated Asset Protection team member to safeguard customers, team members, and vendors. The role emphasizes proactive safety practices, investigation of theft, and collaboration with store leadership to maintain a secure environment.

The position requires at least a high school diploma and 6 months of security experience (or 1 year of general work experience). Applicants will engage in surveillance, incident reporting, and coordination with law enforcement as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in security or at least 1 year of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects building exterior and parking lot for hazards.
• Performs backroom and sales floor walking inspections.
• Reviews cashier exception reports and investigates discrepancies.
• Conducts internal theft surveillance and follows up as needed.
• Reviews theft activity reports and participates in cases.
• Performs shoplifting surveillance and documents incidents.
• Reports safety hazards to store leadership for prompt action.
• Tests and inspects camera equipment for proper operation.
• Monitors alarm system activity and investigates suspicious events.
• Assists in apprehension and prosecution of theft-related offenses.
• Maintains thorough documentation and incident reports for litigation.
