Job summary

Swirl Works in Menlo Park, CA, is seeking a personable Corporate Events & Retail Associate to support fragrance experiences and our in-store guests. This part-time, in-person role focuses on guiding workshops, welcoming guests, and presenting fragrance concepts to diverse groups.

You will help prep events, maintain the fragrance station, assist with inventory, and process transactions. The ideal candidate enjoys connecting with people, thrives in a fast-paced luxury environment, and is available

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in hospitality, events, luxury retail, teaching, or another client-facing role preferred.
  • Comfortable speaking to and leading groups.
  • Warm and engaging communication style with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, dependable, and attentive to detail.
  • Calm, adaptable, and solutions-oriented in live event and retail environments.
  • Comfortable working with a wide range of guests, from individual shoppers to corporate teams.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a polished guest experience.
  • Interest in fragrance, events, hospitality, or creative brands is strongly preferred.
  • Reliable transportation for off-site events is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support guided fragrance-blending workshops for corporate gatherings, weddings, and private events.
  • Welcome guests and create an engaging, polished atmosphere throughout each experience.
  • Present fragrance concepts, including scent notes, fragrance families, and blending fundamentals, to groups of varying sizes.
  • Guide guests individually through the fragrance-blending process while maintaining the pace and flow of the overall event.
  • Answer guest questions and provide thoughtful fragrance recommendations.
  • Adapt the experience to different audiences, event formats, and client goals.
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and brand presentation at every event.
  • Assist with event preparation, including organizing supplies, preparing materials, and checking inventory.
  • Support event setup, breakdown, load-in, and load-out.
  • Help maintain an organized and visually polished fragrance station.
  • Assist with on-site troubleshooting and respond calmly to changing event needs.
  • Collaborate with the Event Coordinator on schedules, client details, and event logistics.
  • Share feedback following events to help improve the guest experience and workshop flow.
  • Welcome retail guests and provide attentive, personalized service.
  • Introduce guests to Swirl Works fragrance products and blending experiences.
  • Guide customers through scent discovery and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
  • Facilitate individual fragrance-blending appointments and walk-in experiences.
  • Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
  • Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and organization of the retail space.
  • Restock products, packaging, and fragrance materials as needed.
  • Support opening and closing responsibilities.
  • Assist with inventory counts and communicate product or supply needs to the team.

Job description

Swirl Works is a luxury perfumery located at Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park. We specialize in personalized fragrance experiences for corporate gatherings, weddings, private events, and retail guests, including interactive fragrance bars and guided scent-blending workshops.

We are seeking a personable and organized Corporate Events & Retail Associate to support our fragrance experiences and provide exceptional service in our retail space. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with guests, is confident speaking to groups, and thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment.

The selected candidate will receive paid training in perfumery fundamentals, fragrance blending, workshop facilitation, luxury retail service, and event etiquette.

  • Part-time, approximately 20-20 hours per week
  • Flexibility on weekend and holiday availability
  • Weekday availability is needed for corporate and private events
  • This is an in-person position and is not eligible for remote work
  • Local travel may be required for off-site events

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Events and Workshop Facilitation
