Job summary

Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for its ReStore location in Westwood, NJ. The role focuses on merchandise flow, pricing, and supervision of part-time staff and volunteers.

You will drive sales, maintain store presentation, manage pricing, and monitor inventory turnover on a Tuesday–Saturday schedule. Responsibilities include operating the POS, cash handling, and coordinating with staff and volunteers to deliver strong customer service, while ensuring

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with access to personal transportation.
• Ability to pass a DOT medical physical.
• Ability to lift at least 50lbs regularly.
• Ability to sit, kneel, bend, climb ladders and stand for long periods.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English required).
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale system.
• Excellent online search and research skills to price new inventory.

Responsibilities

• Price and stock new items for store flow.
• Maintain clean, organized and presentable sales floor.
• Ring up customer purchases on a POS system.
• Open and close the store on a daily basis.
• Supervise 2-3 part-time associates and numerous volunteers.
• Ensure items are cleaned, repaired and ready for sale.
• Adhere to safety standards and inventory controls.
• Assist with social media and online postings.
• Respond to customer inquiries online.
• Train and orient new volunteers.
• Load and unload donations and support donation processes.
