Job summary

South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is seeking an entry-level specialist to provide case management coordination for youth referred to DJJ. You will conduct assessments, interview youth and families, monitor compliance with court orders, and develop comprehensive supervision plans for diversion, intake, probation, or parole.

You will advocate for appropriate, timely services, maintain case files, and participate in professional development trainings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social science or its equivalent is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of federal/state laws and regulations pertaining to juvenile offenders is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary case manager for youth referred to DJJ through diversion, intake, probation, or parole supervision.
• Interview juveniles, families, and service providers to assess functioning, strengths, and needs.
• Monitor juvenile compliance with court orders.
• Provide alternatives to incarceration through graduated responses and STAP.
• Maintain case files and JJMS data entry, and prepare reports.
• Promote restorative justice practices and advocate for timely services.
