Job summary

Center for Justice Innovation is seeking a Planner for the Restorative Justice Practices department in Midtown Manhattan. You will support both local and national RJ initiatives, coordinating with senior leadership to design, implement, and assess restorative programming and policy developments.

You will create communications, materials, and toolkits for diverse audiences, manage multiple projects, and travel as needed to partner sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2-3 years of relevant experience or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of restorative justice principles and practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Some experience with restorative justice facilitation preferred.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds in a culturally competent manner.
• Proficient with word processing and database programs (Microsoft 365 incl. Word, Excel) and design tools like Canva.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel within NYC and outside the state; occasional evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and help implement new initiatives; build partnerships, develop protocols, provide admin, logistical and organizational support.
• Create materials and media to communicate RJ team impact to stakeholders.
• Coordinate development and assessment of protocols, procedures and best practices for programs.
• Prepare written materials (one-pagers, toolkits, grant proposals, policy papers) for internal and external audiences.
• Provide administrative support: organizing calls, documenting next steps, editing documents, tracking initiatives.
• Support fiscal operations, policy and program development, event planning and execution.
• Plan meetings, retreats, working groups, and prepare agendas/materials.
• Assist leadership in daily administrative and strategic operations and progress tracking.
• Assist with facilitation of restorative justice responses for various offenses; other tasks as needed.
