Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Restorative Justice Coordinator to lead schoolwide restorative practices, build capacity, and expand restorative justice across the CPS community. Reporting to the principal, you will collaborate with students, staff, families and school stakeholders to advance restorative practices and develop schoolwide systems.

The role will facilitate Tier 1–3 restorative interventions, design trainings for staff, and connect the school to local partners.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is required; Public Administration, Education or Human Services preferred.
  • Two years of training and/or experience in restorative justice and circle practice.
  • Four years of direct experience implementing conflict mediation and positive youth development in a school or community setting.
  • Ability to work after school and weekend hours.
  • Four years of experience building relationships with students, teachers, administration, parents, and community partners.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate restorative practices across universal, targeted, and intensive tiers with school stakeholders.
  • Lead Tier 1 proactive restorative practices with administrators, staff, students, and families.
  • Coordinate Tier 2 and 3 restorative interventions and crisis/trauma responses.
  • Create and maintain spaces for restorative work (e.g., Peace Room).
  • Provide training and coaching to build restorative justice capacity within the school community.
