Job summary

Brockton Public Schools is seeking three Restorative Justice Coaches to support restorative practices district-wide, with emphasis on the New Beginnings Program. You will work with students, families, educators, and administrators to repair harm, foster belonging, and build a positive school culture rooted in dignity and equity.

Coaches will help students reflect, develop social-emotional skills, and successfully reconnect with their school community, while collaborating with staff and community

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of restorative justice principles and practices.
  • Experience working with youth impacted by conflict or barriers to success.
  • Familiarity with social-emotional learning and nonviolent conflict resolution.
  • Strong facilitation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, school staff, and community partners.
  • Experience coaching or training related to restorative practices preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate restorative circles, conferences, and other restorative processes that support accountability, healing, and relationship repair.
  • Support students in developing conflict-resolution, communication, and self-reflection skills.
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop restorative responses to behavioral concerns and student reentry plans.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with students, families, and school personnel.
  • Provide coaching and consultation to staff implementing restorative practices.
  • Facilitate engagement opportunities for parents, caregivers, and families.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district policies and regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing professional learning and serve as a restorative leader within the school community.
  • Assist in creating safe, supportive environments during and after conflicts or challenging incidents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Restorative Justice Coach (3 Positions)

Brockton Public Schools seeks three (3) Restorative Justice Coaches to support the implementation of restorative practices across the district, with a primary focus on the New Beginnings Program. Coaches will partner with students, families, educators, and administrators to strengthen relationships, foster belonging, address conflict, repair harm, and build a positive school culture rooted in dignity, equity, and accountability.

Through restorative approaches, Coaches will help create safe, supportive spaces where students can reflect, develop social-emotional skills, navigate challenges, and successfully reconnect with their school community.

Qualifications

Education and Certification

  • High school diploma or GED required, associate degree preferred.
  • Commitment to completing restorative justice training as assigned.
  • Massachusetts Professional Restorative Justice Certification, or eligibility to obtain certification, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Knowledge of restorative justice principles and practices.
  • Experience working with youth, particularly students impacted by conflict, disciplinary challenges, or other barriers to success.
  • Familiarity with social-emotional learning, positive youth development, collaborative problem-solving, and nonviolent conflict resolution.
  • Strong facilitation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, school staff, and community partners.
  • Experience providing coaching, training, or professional learning related to restorative practices is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-3:30 PM

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $45,000 to $60,000 Per Year
