Job summary

Aegis Therapies is seeking a Wellness Instructor in Restorative Care to join our Rehab Therapy team in Metropolis, IL. This full-time role focuses on delivering wellness, fitness and exercise programs for nursing facility residents.

No extensive restorative experience is required beyond CNA certification; you will work with therapy staff to implement appropriate activities, ambulation, mobility, and ROM while avoiding less desirable CNA tasks. EnerG by Aegis programs support health and happiness.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Current certification as Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA in state of practice
• Specialty certification as personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor or similar area, preferred.
• Background in exercise and activity training with senior populations, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Rehabilitation / Therapy and work exclusively with the therapy team to provide knowledge and expertise in delivering wellness, fitness, and exercise programs.
• Assist in the restorative care of patients as directed.
• Exclusive restorative responsibilities (Ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active/passive range of motion, dressing/grooming, splint/prosthesis care) with limited or none of the "less desirable" tasks that often accompany a CNA position.
• No restorative experience necessary, CNA Certification Required.
