Genesis in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Restorative Nurse Aide to support residents in collaboration with a licensed nurse and rehabilitation team. The role focuses on delivering restorative nursing care to prevent decline and maximize function.

You will document progress, participate in care planning, train staff on splints and prosthetic devices, and report changes in patient functioning while contributing to a compassionate, quality-care environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant program is required.
• Two years' experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Knowledge of restorative nursing philosophy and procedures is required.
• Must attend a minimum of 12 hours continuing education programs provided by the nursing center in order to maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• The Restorative Nurse Aide, in collaboration with a licensed nurse and rehabilitation therapy, delivers restorative nursing care to prevent decline and to attain maximum functionality.
• Maintain accurate restorative nursing progress documentation records on all patients participating in the restorative program.
• Participate in the patient care planning process.
• Train other direct care staff in restorative techniques, equipment, and the application of splints, braces, prosthetic appliances, and self-help devices to assure proper application and usage.
• Notify nursing and/or rehabilitation therapy of patients who may be experiencing a change in their level of functioning.
