Job summary

Carrie Elligson Gietner Health Care Center is seeking a Restorative Aide to support residents in maintaining and improving physical function within a skilled care setting.

Under nursing and rehabilitation supervision, you will implement individualized restorative plans, assist with mobility and daily activities, document progress, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure resident safety and dignity.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain a current, valid certification required by the facility/state for the Restorative Aide position.
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to safely assist residents with mobility, transfers, and restorative activities.
• Ability to follow individualized care plans and instructions from nursing and rehabilitation staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with restorative nursing programs and activities according to individualized care plans.
• Assist with range-of-motion exercises, ambulation, transfers, positioning, and other restorative activities as directed.
• Encourage residents to maintain independence with activities of daily living.
• Observe residents and report changes in condition, mobility, behavior, or functioning to the appropriate nursing staff.
• Accurately document restorative activities and resident participation.
• Follow all facility policies, procedures, infection-control practices, and safety standards.
• Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality.
• Work cooperatively with nursing, therapy, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Restorative Aide assists residents with maintaining and improving their physical functioning and independence through restorative nursing programs. The Restorative Aide works under the direction of nursing and rehabilitation staff and follows individualized restorative care plans.
