Job summary

ServiceMaster CDR is seeking an experienced Fire & Contents Restoration Technician to join our elite team in Ohio. You will perform all aspects of fire and smoke damage restoration, including demolition, cleaning, contents handling, and equipment setup, while using industry-standard software for documentation.

You will work with homeowners, property managers, and adjusters to deliver high-quality service, maintain safety and organization on-site, and participate in on-call rotations to meet

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in fire or smoke restoration (residential or commercial)
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces
• Valid driver’s license with clean record
• Willing to obtain or maintain IICRC certifications
• Comfort with PPE and safety procedures
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of fire and smoke damage restoration, including demolition and contents cleaning
• Safely pack, move, and restore fire-damaged personal belongings and contents
• Operate restoration tools and equipment with proper care
• Document job progress, inventory, and customer interactions with restoration software
• Coordinate with homeowners, managers, adjusters, and leads to ensure quality service
• Maintain a clean, safe worksite and organized company vehicles/equipment
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies as needed

What You’ll Do:

• Perform all aspects of fire and smoke damage restoration, including demolition, structural cleaning, contents cleaning, equipment setup, pack-outs, and debris removal
• Safely pack, move, clean, and restore fire-damaged personal belongings and commercial contents
• Operate a variety of restoration tools and equipment, ensuring proper use and care
• Accurately document job progress, inventory, and customer interactions using restoration software (e.g., Contents Track, iCAT, Restore 365)
• Work directly with homeowners, property managers, insurance adjusters, and project leads to ensure smooth, high-quality service delivery
• Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean and professional worksite, and keep company vehicles and equipment ready and organized
• Participate in on‑call rotations and respond to emergency situations as needed

What You Bring:

• Some hands‑on experience in fire or smoke damage restoration (residential or commercial)
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and a positive, can‑do attitude
• Solid customer service and communication skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in confined or challenging spaces, and wear PPE (including respirators) when required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Tech‑savvy and able to learn or use mobile devices and job‑tracking software
• IICRC FSRT & OCT certifications are a plus (or willingness to obtain)
