Job summary

SERVPRO of Vacaville / Dixon is hiring a hands-on restoration helper to respond to emergencies and help restore homes and businesses. The role emphasizes teamwork, physical work outdoors, and learning new skills under supervision.

You will assist with water and fire damage cleanup, equipment setup, vehicle prep, and client communication. A valid driver's license and a readiness to work on-call shifts are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous handyman or construction experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a team and outdoors.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to restorations.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and work flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency situations such as water or fire damage.
• Assist in restoration tasks including equipment setup and cleanup.
• Load and inventory vehicles with tools and supplies.
• Communicate site hazards and job progress with supervisors and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water damage, fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities including but not limited to, water extraction, fire damages, set-up of specialty equipment, and demolition.
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and all necessary supplies for each project.
• Effectively communicate safety hazards, job site findings, equipment, and tool requirements for the worksite with supervisors.
• Maintain open and clear communication with clients, addressing their concerns and explaining the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including water extraction, drying and site clean-up

Position Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to work occasional on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.

Skills/Physical Demands/Competencies

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)
• Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects.
• Ability to work with/around cleaning agents.

Compensation: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
