Job summary

Servpro Industries is seeking a hands-on handyman/restoration assistant to support emergency cleanup and restoration efforts in the Villa Rica, GA area. You will respond to water and fire damage calls, perform restoration tasks, and assist with equipment setup on job sites.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and clear client communication, with training provided and opportunities for professional growth. A valid driver's license is required and on-site work is expected.

Qualifications

• Handyman or construction experience is preferred.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn a new skill and adapt to restoration work.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations including water and fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities such as water extraction and equipment setup.
• Load and organize work vehicles with tools and supplies for each project.
• Communicate safety hazards and job-site findings to supervisors clearly.
• Maintain open communication with clients about restoration processes.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including drying and site tidying.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water damage, fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities including but not limited to, water extraction, fire damages, set-up of specialty equipment, and demolition.
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and all necessary supplies for each project.
• Effectively communicate safety hazards, job site findings, equipment, and tool requirements for the worksite with supervisors.
• Maintain open and clear communication with clients, addressing their concerns and explaining the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including water extraction, drying and site clean-up

Position Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to work occasional on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.

Skills/Physical Demands/Competencies

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)
• Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects.
• Ability to work with/around cleaning agents.
